Canterbury Rams Announce the Signing of Quintin Bailey

The Canterbury Rams have locked in their third player for the 2021 Sal’s NBL Season, signing Quintin Bailey.

Born and raised in Stratford, Quintin played his high school basketball at Stratford High School, leading the team to a runner up finish at Secondary School National Championships in 2015. After spending some time with the Taranaki Airs, Quintin continued his career in the US attending Citrus College from 2016-2018 and then John Brown University for the final two years of his kinesiology degree.

On return to New Zealand, Quintin was a late recruit for the Rams NBL Showdown Team, which paid off as Rams Head Coach Mick Downer explains saying “We welcome Quintin to our Rams family with great excitement. He’s everything that we can ask for in a person and player. Tough, resilient, hard-working and talented. He joined our team late in the Showdown due to injuries and after recommendations from our playing group. After spending that time with him in Auckland it was a no brainer to seek him out for our Rams in 2021.”

Quintin has been in Christchurch over the weekend, getting a taste for the organisation and his new home for the season. “I believe the Rams provide an environment that best suits me to further develop my basketball career both on and off the court. A big thank you to Mick, the team and the whole Rams organisation who have been so good to deal with throughout this process” Quintin explained.

The team is starting to come together with Jack Salt, Joe Cook-Green and Quintin Bailey all set to wear the Rams singlet next season. Another exciting player signing will be coming next week.  We’re pumped to be back at Cowles for 9 home games and the best way to catch all the action at the best prices is with a season membership!
