The Canterbury Rams would like to announce the re-signing of Jack Salt for the 2021 Sal’s NBL Season!
Coming off an NCAA Division 1 Championship with Virginia in 2019, then suiting up for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League and representing New Zealand for the Tall Blacks on various occasions, Jack has had a wealth of international experience and success.
Healthy and raring to play for the Rams in the 2020 season Jack unfortunately succumbed to a knee injury which kept him side-lined for the NBL Showdown. Jack is on the road to full recovery and training in Christchurch with the Rams coaches and support staff.
During the Rams 2020 Showdown campaign, Jack shared his knowledge and experience to help lead a young Rams team, while meticulously working on his rehabilitation and goal to get back to playing basketball. In addition to this the Canterbury community has loved being able to get to know Jack, through his various off court activities including being involved in the CRBF Mentoring, Rams In-Schools and Mainland Eagles programs.
“We are excited to have Jack on board for the 2021 season, he epitomises resilience, toughness and leadership, all qualities we value at our club. We look forward in supporting Jack through his basketball journey and being a key part to our group in the 2021 campaign”, Rams Head Coach Mick Downer had to say about Jack.
Jack Salt is looking forward to next season saying “I’m thrilled to sign with the Rams for the 2021 NBL season. The Rams organization has been extremely professional and understanding with me over the past year. I can’t wait to get back on the court in April.”
It’s fair to say we can’t wait to have Rams basketball back in town next year, and with a full slate of 9 home games at Cowles Stadium, Rams fans will be in for a treat!
