CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand — The Canterbury Rams are excited to welcome back Mana Martin for another season as a development player.
A graduate of St Thomas of Canterbury College, Martin appeared in 8 Sal’s NBL games for the Rams in 2025. Now entering his third season in the league, the 18-year-old guard is primed to take on more responsibility.
“Mana has made significant strides over the offseason, dedicating himself to expanding his skillset and putting in an exceptional amount of work during the break,” said Head Coach Quinn Clinton. “His decision-making has sharpened, and his defensive presence has grown noticeably stronger.”
Martin starred for the Rams in Sky Broadband Rapid League this past season, scoring a league-wide second-best 12.5 points per game, while also setting a new single game league-record with 31 points against the Taranaki Airs.
“Last year, Rapid League was a great opportunity for me to grow as a player,” said Martin. “Having a bigger role, while competing against pros allowed me to gain valuable experience and develop my game as the season went on. I’m excited to see how I can apply those learnings going into the 26 season.”

During his offseason, Martin was chosen to play for the New Zealand Select Team at the 2025 NBA Global Academy Games, where he scored the most total points of any player at the tournament, averaging 17.8 points per game.
“We’re now looking for Mana to translate his rapid league success into impactful minutes in the NZNBL this season as he continues taking the next step in his career trajectory,” added Clinton.
“I owe a great deal to this organisation. Quinn, Judd, and the entire staff have been pivotal in my growth over the past few years, not just as a player but also as a person,” added Martin. “I’m very lucky to be in an environment where everyday I’m competing against guys who have already been where I’m working to get to.”
“Being exposed to this level of professionalism has given me an understanding of what it takes to succeed. I’m grateful for the platform that the Rams have given me as I continue to develop heading into college.”
