CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – Rams mainstay Max Darling has re-signed with Canterbury for the 2025 Sal’s NBL season.
“We’re excited to bring Max Darling back to the Rams for another season,” said Head Coach Quinn Clinton. “His best basketball is still ahead of him, and we’re confident he’ll continue to improve in our environment.”
“Max has become a fan favourite here in Christchurch, not only for his electrifying plays on the court but also for the positive impact he has in our community. We’re excited to watch Max’s growth and see the contributions he’ll make on both ends of the floor this season.”
A reliable contributor on the past two championship-winning teams, Darling had a fantastic 2024 season for the Rams, where he averaged 9.9 points and 4.8 rebounds while also knocking down 35.0% of his shots from long-range.

Darling shared his excitement on re-signing with the team, saying, “Can’t wait to be back in Christchurch and run it back with the boys!”
Having now become a regular in the NZ Breakers’ rotation, Darling has increased his Australian NBL per game averages to 5.2 points and 2.2 rebounds in 16.9 minutes. His best outing of NBL25 so far came against the Perth Wildcats, where he scored an NBL career-high 15 points to go with 4 made three-pointers.
