Head Coach

Judd Joined the Canterbury Rams team at the beginning of 2022 after coming off a stint with the South East Melbourne Pheonix in the Australian NBL as Assistant Coach from 2019-2022. He has also been an assistant coach to the Tall Blacks and the Breakers during their championship era. Judd was part of the 2002 Tall Blacks squad as a player that made it to the final 4 of the World  Championships. He has been Head Coach of Junior Tall Blacks sides as well as the lead coach of the Breakers Academy. Now being the Head Coach of the Mainland Eagles Academy  this unique and diverse skill set will be beneficial in the development of players in and around the Canterbury and Mainland Region. We are excited to have Judd as Head Coach of the Rams for 2023 season as we continue in our pursuit for an NZNBL Championship.

Lidia
Belles
Physiotherapist

Lidia is originally from Spain. Lidia has a Masters in Health Practice in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from AUT and her enthusiasm and desire to achieve her goals both professionally and in her personal life as a triathlete has been an example to her colleagues and patients. Lidia has been involved in providing physiotherapy services to different sports teams and athletes across a variety of sport: rugby, athletics, triathlon, multisport, cricket and soccer. Most recently Lidia has been the team physiotherapist for the Canterbury RAMS and Wildcats since 2014 and is regularly involved with the Eagles Academy. Lidia’s passion is movement screening for injury prevention and end-stage rehabilitation particularly associated with ankle sprain and ACL injuries.

General Manager

Caleb has been with the Canterbury Rams since the franchised were re-established in 2014. His roles have included leading the development programs including Mainland Eagles Academy, Canterbury Basketball Rep Academy, Rams Mentoring & In-Schools Coaching programs.

Since being in the role of General Manager some of the highlights include an NBL record crowd of 6,000 people for the Rams vs Saints game at Horncastle Arena in 2018 and bringing the Tall Blacks & NZ Breakers back to Christchurch for the first time since 2004.

With 15 years of international coaching experience, he brings a diverse set of skills to Canterbury & the South Island for development pathways for players throughout the region. He continues to provide specialist guidance and mentoring to the families on US college & international basketball pathways. Through his US college connections & experiences he is able to help find the right US College fit for each of the Mainland Eagles Academy members which includes 35 boys & girls from throughout the South Island receiving US College Scholarships since the Academy was established in 2014.

Caleb has delivered & participated in coaching courses throughout the world including Serbia, Croatia, Thailand, Australia, UAE, Malawi, USA & New Zealand.
