CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – With the 2025 Sal’s NBL season just around the corner, the Canterbury Rams have added Tohi Smith-Milner to the mix.
“It’s fantastic to have Tohi back with the Rams,” said Head Coach Quinn Clinton. “The experience he brings to our roster is invaluable, but what excites us even more is his drive to keep improving individually and his commitment to pursuing team success.”
“Tohi fits seamlessly with our group, and we’re confident he’ll make a significant impact on both ends of the court. We’re looking forward to welcoming Tohi and his family to Christchurch.”
The 29-year-old Tall Black has been playing his best basketball yet over the past 12 months, notching career-highs of 18.1 points and 8.1 rebounds with the Wellington Saints in 2024, and ANBL career-highs of 5.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in his first season with the Brisbane Bullets.

“Really excited to join the Rams and help contribute towards another championship but also pass on the knowledge I’ve learnt over my time playing professionally to these young guys,” shared Smith-Milner.
Smith-Milner last played for the Canterbury Rams in the 2017 season as a 21-year-old. Since then he’s won championships with the Wellington Saints and Melbourne United, was named All-Star Five at the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup, and has scored an additional 1330 points in the Sal’s NBL.
Smith-Milner has also committed to play NBL1 this ANBL offseason. This is so he can continue to work with the Bullets coaching staff. He will begin the Sal’s NBL season with the Rams, playing through to the end of April before briefly departing. Smith-Milner will then rejoin the Rams in late June for the final 4 games of the regular season and the postseason.
