CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – 24-year-old Australian bigman Kyle Bowen has signed with the Canterbury Rams for the 2025 Sal’s NBL season.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome KB to the team after the conclusion of his NBL season! We love what he brings to the table, both as a competitor and a leader,” said Head Coach Quinn Clinton. “KB is known for his toughness and relentless drive, and we’re confident that Rams fans will absolutely love his style of play. He’s a player who leaves it all on the floor every game, and we can’t wait to have him on board.”
The 6’8” forward has played a key role in Melbourne United’s frontcourt rotation since signing in 2024, averaging career-highs of 4.2 points and 4.2 rebounds on 53.3/43.3 shooting splits in NBL25. Bowen’s defensive savvy and selfless playstyle are an excellent complement to the Rams’ 2025 roster.

“Playing in the NZNBL has been on my radar for a few years now,” shared Bowen. “To get the chance to play for such a successful organisation and talented roster seemed like a great opportunity for me to develop.”
“Rams fans can expect lots of energy and a tough style of play. Excited to do as much as I can to contribute to hopefully another successful Rams season with the fellas under Coach Quinn.”
Bowen played 4 years of Division I basketball at Saint Mary’s College, totalling 524 points and 633 rebounds. With the Gaels, Bowen played alongside current Rams Head Coach Quinn Clinton. During his collegiate career, Bowen made NCAA tournament appearances as a starter in both 2022 and 2023, making it as far as the Round of 32 both years.
