CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – A familiar name to Rams fans, Sam Smith has signed with the team ahead of the 2025 Sal’s NBL season.
“It’s always great to bring back a player who understands our culture and what it takes to win,” Head Coach Quinn Clinton said of Smith. “Sam has been invaluable this preseason, bringing a high basketball IQ and a professional approach that sets the standard for our younger players.”
Smith has played 68 Sal’s NBL games in total over his career, last appearing in the league during the 2022 season. He averaged a career-high 12.1 points and 4.1 rebounds during the Sal’s NBL Showdown, while shooting a blistering 51% from behind the arc.
“Pumped to be back and competing with the fellas again,” shared Smith. “We have a great group and I’m looking forward to this season’s journey.”
