CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand — Team Captain Taylor Britt has re-signed with the Canterbury Rams ahead of the 2026 season.
“We’re excited to re-sign Taylor,” said Head Coach Quinn Clinton on Britt’s return. “He’s been the engine of our team for the last few seasons and the guy we trust in big moments.”
“He leads the right way, is committed to continuing to develop, and sets the standard for our group on and off the court.”
One of New Zealand’s premier players at the point guard position, Britt enters his ninth season in the Sal’s NBL focused on refining his game and pushing for another finals berth.
“I am looking to continue to grow as a player and leader on the court to help our team win games,” said Britt. “And as a team we have the same expectations as every year going into the season, we hope to get back to the finals and win it all.
“I’ve heard Quinn has the young fellas working hard in preseason and I’m looking forward to joining them and getting to work when I can.”

During the 2025 Sal’s NBL season, Britt posted per game averages of 15.6 points and 5.9 assists, providing the team with a steady balance of scoring and facilitating.
“We’re looking for more of the same from Taylor,” added Clinton. “He’s been elite at lifting our pace, makes the game easier for everyone around him, and impacts winning in a lot of little ways. He’s about the right things, and guys love playing with him.”
This past year saw Britt make his return to the Australian NBL, appearing in 18 games (so far) for the NZ Breakers as they compete for a spot in the 2026 NBL Finals.
“I have enjoyed my time up in Auckland with the Breakers, but as always looking forward to being back home in Canterbury playing in front of the fans at our new home court,” said Britt.
