The Canterbury Rams would like to announce the signing of EJ Singler, for the 2020 Sal’s NBL Season. This announcement comes as Rams head coach Mick Downer’s sixth player signing.

Former NBA player for the Toronto Raptors, Portland Trail Blazers and various NBA G League and Summer League teams, EJ Singler will bring a wealth of professional basketball and NBA experience to the Rams in 2020. This includes an NBA G League Championship in 2017 (was the NBA D-League at the time) with the Toronto Raptors affiliation team, the Raptors 905.

Singler’s career has also taken him to Estonia, Germany and Greece where he played professionally, and most recently with teams in the Sal’s NZ NBL and the NBL. Last Sal’s NBL season Singler played for the Hawkes Bay Hawks, where he was a top player in the league, landing a spot in the NZ NBL All Star Five and ranking highly in MVP voting. EJ then joined the Brisbane Bullet’s for the current NBL season, dropping 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the Bullets last regular season game.

Rams Head Coach Mick Downer commented on EJ saying “EJ is a fantastic player who has been a part of successful programs throughout his career. His resume, results and awards speak for themselves and we are excited to have him wear the Rams jersey this season. He is a versatile two way player and a lethal 3pt shooter, but it’s his reading of the game, ability to create space, cut hard, and compete on the glass that will add additional layers to the offensive end of the floor for our team. Sharing his experiences throughout the world on his basketball journey and being the consummate professional will be another great component of his locker room and community leadership. We are excited for both EJ and his wife Bryn to join the Rams family for 2020.”

EJ will be joining five other Rams player signings including Alex Talma, Jack Salt, Jono Janssen, Taylor Britt & Shaun Bruce.  The Rams first home game is on 11th April vs Taranaki Airs at Cowles Stadium and will open up what is becoming one of the most anticipated Sal’s NBL seasons in recent times.

We can’t wait for the 2020 Sals NBL season to tip off and the best way to get involved and ready is to get your Rams season membership! Tickets will not last for 2020 and season memberships are the only way to secure the best seats each & every game. Join the Herd and back the Rams!
