Sam Smith, Jack Exeter, Ben Carlile-Smith and Mason Whittaker will represent the Rams down in Invercargill, and will be sure to bring an energetic, athletic and fast paced approach to the game. With all four players fresh coming off the NBL Showdown season in Auckland.
Max Darling (Illawarra Hawks) and Taylor Britt (Perth Wildcats) are both unavailable due to heading away to Australia in preparation for the ANBL season. Jack Salt, Joe Cook-Green, Toby Gillooly and Alex Talma all recovering from injury and as they prepare for the 2021 Sal’s NBL Season. In selecting the roster we wanted to focus on developing our roster depth in the lead up to the Sal’s NBL in 2021, while providing Ben and Mason more elite level basketball competition to support their development as they embark on their US college careers in the coming year.
Rams Head Coach Mick Downer, who will coach the Rams 3×3 team commented on the roster saying “Our club is excited about the opportunity to field a young but talented side in the upcoming Schick 3X3 Cup. We have had several players become unavailable due to injury and with both Taylor Britt and Max Darling headed to Australia for ANBL campaigns. However, we are excited about the depth in our Rams squad with young guns Ben, Mason and Jack joining Rams leader Sam Smith in our team. These guys thrived in the Sal’s NBL Showdown recently and will continue to compete and represent the Rams well in the upcoming Schick 3×3 Cup.”
Tickets for the Schick 3×3 Cup are available from $8 at Ticketek, and all games will be screened on Sky Sport.
