Rams to support Child Cancer Foundation with retro themed game

The Canterbury Rams are proud to be supporting and fundraising for Child Cancer Foundation through their upcoming retro themed home game against the Nelson Giants this Saturday July 10th. This game is proudly supported by the game presenting partner R&B Builders.

Rams players will wear historically inspired uniforms and warm up tops with the infamous UBIX brands across the front of the jersey, created and designed by Moia Athletic. Nick Wheeler from Wheeler Motor Company has agreed to utilise his naming rights uniform position for UBIX this game. The uniforms will be worn to celebrate the Rams legacy and the past players, coaches and staff that dedicated so much to the team. The teams warm up tops will also have the names of various Rams legends on the back of them. All the game worn jerseys and warm up tops will be auctioned prior to and after the match, with proceeds going to support the work that Child Cancer Foundation does throughout New Zealand.

UBIX were a major partner of the Rams back in the late 1980’s to the early 1990’s and their logo featured on the front of the players singlets. It was in these seasons that the Rams won their championships, with the likes of legendary Rams players Dutchie Rademakers, John Hill, Stan Hill, Clyde Huntley, Gilbert Gordon and Glen Denham all donning the UBIX jerseys.

Child Cancer Foundation Business Development Manager Andrew Gray said “This is an incredible opportunity to be supported by one of our community’s most beloved teams. A massive thank you to the Rams and their fans for getting behind this fundraiser. Their support will make a massive difference for tamariki and whānau impacted by childhood cancer in New Zealand.”

We look forward to having Andrew visit our team this week to talk about Child Cancer Foundation and running a basketball skills session for families and young people in the CCF connect groups.
